Sparky Matsunaga
Spark M. Matsunaga was a U.S. Senator from Hawaii and a champion of global peace. A native of Hanapēpē, he served in the Army during WWII, helped end the Cold War, and was a tireless advocate for education and diplomacy. Storybook Theatre created the Peace Garden to carry forward his vision, inspiring children and visitors to imagine a more compassionate and connected world.
