Forest Akamai’s Open House is a community-centered event from March 14th to 17th, inviting visitors to explore the upland forests of Kaua’i.

The Open House offers immersive learning experiences that blend forest ecology, cultural practice, storytelling, and community stewardship.

Highlights include:

- Morning Forest Hikes: Gentle introductions to Kaua’i’s upland forests, including popular Koke’e trails and rarely visited places.
- Malama ‘Ăina in Action: Hands-on weed servicing and care in native forest areas.
- Afternoon Guest Workshops:
- Saturday: Christopher K.- Non-traditional lei making using forest materials.
- Sunday: Bill Dick - Singer-songwriter sharing music and song writing of place.
- Evening Firesides: Nightly gatherings led by storyteller Mark Jeffers, with special guest Wayne Jacintho.

Visitors can choose to stay for a few hours or overnight, with meals and activities included for day visits and bedding, meals, and instruction for overnight stays. Transportation to the camp is provided on March 14th.
