Available every Tuesday & Thursday 9:30am- 11:00am
The Walk and Talk Story Tour of historic Hanapepe town is a 90 minute walk through one of Kauai’s most whimsical old towns. Tour participants will meet at Storybook Theatre’s Magic Garden gate on the East side of Kona road. As you stroll through town you will enjoy views of Hanapepe Valley, cross the historic swinging bridge hanging above Kauai’s third largest river, Hanapepe river and pass over our hundred year old original town bridge. You will learn about the geographical and historic origins of the area and hear stories that have been passed down through generations about the historic buildings themselves; exclusively from our trained interpreters. The tour will end at our beautiful boutique garden and you will visit Storybook Theatre’s new Celestial Tea Room; where you will get to experience our rejuvenating Chinese herb tea. You can then sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of your morning!

Slack Key Guitar Legend Cyril Pahinui, Hoku Hanohano Award Winner with a discography of over 35 Hawaiian releases, headlines this exciting community event. The celebration opens with Doric Yaris, Traditional Kumu Hula, West Side and his Hula Halau, and includes a special performance by esteemed Slack Key Recording Artist, Cindy Combs.
This special fundraising event supports ongoing educational programs, school visitations for all ages, school tours, and summer internship & enrichment programs. Of special interest is the completion of the outdoor theatre, an upgraded recording studio facility, the decorative outdoor gate and, ‘Going Green’, Storybook Theatre’s Solar Photovoltaic System that allows us to get off the grid and lessen our environmental impact on the island.
Aloha Fellow Educators,
Last school year young children delighted in our inflatable Pacific Humpback Whales: Harmony and Melody. We performed 110 programs for more than 3,000 young children on five islands with an overwhelmingly positive response. This year with a new program and great educational materials our tour will be traveling to your island.
